Your first day
The best first night starts in daylight. Spend 20 minutes on these steps the day your light arrives.
- Check the box.Tick off everything on the in-the-box list.
- Charge it to full.Plug the 100W charger into the USB-C port on the control panel. The four blue battery lights fill as it charges. All four lit means full. Lights often ship partly charged for safe transport, so top off before the first job.
- Download the Devos app.Free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Search “Devos.”
- Pair your light.Open the app, turn the light on, and let the app scan for it. Select it and give it a name you’ll recognize. “North Goal” beats “Light 1” when you own four.
- Do one practice setup in daylight.Follow Setup start to finish, then take it back down. Learn the latches and clicks while you can see them, not by headlamp.
- Try every brightness level.Press through all five levels and boost to 15,000 once so you know what each looks like.
- Plan your spot.Pick a level, firm spot away from power lines, and think about where you want the light to land.

Setting up in about two minutes
One person can set up the Pro 15,000 in about two minutes. Work from the bottom up: legs first, then the pole from the top section down. Listen for a click every time you close a latch.

Open the tripod
- Set the panels. While the light is short, angle both panels. A slight forward tilt gives a good, wide spread.
- Release the legs.Lift the light a little and pop the legs out of their snaps.
- Open the tripod latch. This is the bottom latch on the pole.
- Drop the legs.Push the tripod collar down until the legs are fully open.
- Close the tripod latch.Listen for the click. The base is locked.
- Level it.Use each leg latch to widen the stance and level the light.
Raise the pole
- Open the top pole latch. The highest latch on the pole.
- Slide the top section upto the height you want.
- Close the latch.Listen for the click.
- Repeat for each section, working down. All three up puts you at 13 feet.
Lock it down
- Add the ground stakeson grass or dirt, in any wind, or for a long night. Drive a stake through each foot slot, perpendicular to the leg, with a hammer or an impact drill and the included bit.
Controls on the light
The control panel has two buttons, four blue battery lights, and a USB-C port. The light always turns on at 10,000 lumens with both panels lit.

Battery level lights
When you’re down to one light, plan to dim or recharge.
Aiming the light
The Pro 15,000 is directional. It puts light where you aim it instead of wasting it behind the pole. Height spreads the light; panel angle decides where it lands.
| You want to light | Panel setup |
|---|---|
| A wide area around the light | Both panels spread apart and tilted slightly down, pole fully raised |
| One direction, as far as possible | Both panels side by side facing the same way, tilted just below level |
| Two separate areas | One panel pointed at each area |
| A close, small space | Pole lower, panels tilted more steeply down, brightness turned down |
- Higher is almost always better. Light from 13 feet throws fewer shadows than light from eye level.
- Run one panel only (see Controls) to stretch runtime when you only need light in one direction.
- Bugs fly to the light. With the light 13 feet up, they stay up there, not in your face.
Control it from your phone
The free Devos app runs your light over Bluetooth, so you never have to lower the pole to change a setting.
Pair a light
- Download the Devos app (iOS or Android).
- Open the app.
- Turn on the light.
- Let the app scan, then select your light.
- Name it. Pair each light the same way.
What you can do in the app
- On, off, and dimming to any level, including boost to 15,000
- Control each panel separately
- Group lights and run them all at once
- Set an auto-off timer
- Emergency flash mode
- Firmware updates
Charging and runtime
The 400 Wh battery charges inside the light through the USB-C port on the control panel. Use the included 100W charger for the fastest charge.
| Power ratings | Volts / amps |
|---|---|
| USB-C input | 20V 5A, 12V 3A, 9V 3A, 5V 3A |
| USB-C output | 20V 5A, 12V 3A, 9V 3A, 5V 3A |
| Charger max output | 100W |
Taking it down and packing up
Takedown is setup in reverse: pole first, from the bottom section up, then the legs.
- Turn the light off.
- Lower the pole one section at a time.Hand on the pole, open the lowest raised latch, lower slowly, close it. Never open more than one latch at a time.
- Pull the stakes,if you used them.
- Retract the legsto their shortest length.
- Open the tripod latch, lift the light, and fold the legs up. Close the latch.
- Snap the legsinto their retention snaps.
- Fold the panelsflat against the pole.
- Pack itin the EVA case with the charger, stakes, and hex keys.
- Rechargebefore you store it (see Battery care).
Battery care and storage
Treat the battery well and it will light a lot of nights. Four rules:
The battery is lithium-ion. At the end of its life, recycle it at a battery drop-off. Don’t put it in household trash.
Safety
Warning: tall tripod light, 13 feet (4 meters)
Failure to follow these precautions may result in injury and equipment damage.
- Never set up near power lines or overhead wires.
- Fully extend and lock the tripod legs before raising the pole.
- Use only on stable, level surfaces.
- Lower each pole section slowly. Sections can drop quickly when a latch is open.
- Keep clear of the light while adjusting it.
- Take the light down and stay away from it during lightning storms.
- Lower the light completely in high wind unless it’s staked down.
- Don’t submerge the light. It’s rated IP56 for rain and dust, not standing water. The battery sits in the bottom of the pole.
- Don’t use the light above 113°F.
- Don’t open, repair, or service the light or battery yourself. Contact Devos.
- Don’t stare into the panels at close range, especially on boost.
Troubleshooting
Most fixes take less than a minute. Find what you’re seeing on the left.
| If this happens | Try this |
|---|---|
| Light won’t turn on | Charge it. If no battery lights come on while charging, check that the battery is seated in the bottom of the pole and try another USB-C outlet. |
| Pole sections slide down too fast | Tighten the pole clamps with the included hex key. Small turns, then test. |
| Pole sections are hard to raise | Loosen the pole clamps slightly with the hex key. |
| Legs slip or won’t hold length | Tighten the leg extension clamps with the hex key. |
| Light leans or wobbles | Extend the legs fully, level them with the leg latches, and add the ground stakes. |
| App can’t find the light | Turn the light on, move closer, make sure Bluetooth is on, then reopen the app and scan again. |
| Only one side is lit | You pressed the power button 2 or 3 times. Press until both sides are on, or switch panels in the app. |
| Runtime is shorter than expected | Boost (15,000) uses the most power. Drop to 8,000 or 10,000 lumens, and store the battery above 50%. |
| Won’t charge in cold or heat | Bring it to between 32°F and 113°F and try again. |

Warranty and support
Your LightRanger Pro 15,000 is covered by a 2-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, for the original purchaser. Keep your receipt or order number.
The head, pole, tripod, and battery are each replaceable, so one damaged part doesn’t mean a new light.
