What's in the kit?

Does this include the telescoping pole?

Nope, and that's the point. This kit is built for pole-free, mount-anywhere setups.

What can I stick it to?

Smooth, non-porous surfaces: vehicle panels, windows, trailers, RV exteriors, boats, coolers, metal; anything flat and clean.

Will that suction cup really hold my light?

Yes, and it's not a bathroom-shelf suction cup. The 4.5" SeaSucker vacuum mount is rated to hold 120 lbs of straight pull (it's built to haul sheets of glass and off-road bike racks). Your LightRanger 2000 doesn't weigh anywhere close to that, so you've got a serious safety margin. Pump it onto a clean, smooth surface and trust it.

What if it starts to lose grip?

It tells you before it ever lets go. When the vacuum drops, an orange band pops out of the pump, that's your cue to give it a couple more pumps and you're back to full strength. On a moving vehicle, just check it when you stop for gas or food.

Do I need to prep the surface?

Just wipe off any dirt first. A quick pass with a damp paper towel does it. Make sure the sealing edge of the mount is clean too. No alcohol wipes or special prep required (though a clean surface and a clean mount go a long way toward a rock-solid, long-lasting hold).

How long will it stay mounted?

There's no hard time limit, it depends on the surface, the mount's condition, and the load. On a good clean surface it'll hold for a long haul, and the orange warning band means you'll never be caught off guard. For anything on a moving vehicle, a quick check at each stop is the pro move.

Is this a replacement for the full LightRanger 2000 kit?

Think of it as a different way to run your LR2000 — mounted overhead instead of up a pole. Great as your main setup or your second one.
